Instrument of Relaxation:
The Music of Daniel Kleefeld - continued
By Zik Jackson
On his latest album,
Daniel collaborates with other Tulsans active in music ministry,
such as saxophonist Grady Nichols, violinist Maurice Sklar, and
flutist Karen Williams. “I love including other artists,” says
Daniel. “I like to encourage other artists to be a part of what
I’m doing, because it just gives it more texture, even more of
a corporate anointing and more instrumentation. I’ll be happy
doing this great solo piano deal, but I do like having other
people involved with it. You’ll see with the new CD, Sail
Into the Wind, it’s got more collaboration
with wonderful musicians.”
Besides songs written by Daniel during times of worship, the
project also contains such classical favorites as Pachelbel’s
Canon in D, Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, and Debussy’s
Claire De Lune. All of the songs are pretty.
Daniel
Kleefeld has the heart of a minstrel. His humor and demeanor
put audiences at ease, while his soothing piano playing warms
the spirit. For a background to your relaxing vacation this
summer, give his instrumental music a try.
